making a decision

Today I just made another decision! After a few days thinking about it, I think I just need to decide and do not have to think about it anymore. It was about the modules that I wanted to do for my masters degree. When I applying for this masters, International development and education, I do not have any idea that it will come together with 5 different pathways that I can choose to take.

I decided to just stick with the modules that I first choose when I appplied. I do interested to take a module called Student tutoring which I will be able to go to UK school and do some teaching work there. But I missed to fill my name in! So sad! But what to do...I need to move on, so I discussed with Rene, my programme director and he will help me find away to do some work in school later....that's quite a re;ief

Makin decision...it never ends right! Once you decide something there will be hundred more later you need to decide. Sometime maybe I do not have to worry much because I think there are no really corrrect or incorrect decisions... It's us who go through it and choose to celebrate it or to make it a problem... ahaha....try to be positive... ;)

walking in the rain...

It's sunny again after 2 days of rainy days. I still remember my frist visit to UK with a group of my friends. Dr. Barry from University of Hertfordshire was the tour guide. When he brought us to walk around the campus, he always be so far in front and then need to come back to us....we were left behid...very slow...Malaysian walk! haha...

Everytime that's happened, he will shout to us, "Alright guys, no more Malaysian walk...it's England walk!" We just smile and keep wondering around...even one of my friend lost! :D

Now that I'm living here, I realised why people walk fast! It's cold! When it's raning, people just walk through it like there's nothing happened. Everybody just wan to arrive to their destination as soon as possible to get warmer...

But, as far as I concern, Malaysian walk is not a fault...haha... we cannot move too fast in Malaysia or else we gonna get sweat! It's always hot! And if you walk in the rain, you will end up getting fever...

p/s: Just having fun thinking some not so important thing....haha....

Hello Newcastle...

I am about to go to Induction week this morning. I think it's an introduction of my course. I'm quite excited to go and see what will happen but mostly I am very nervous. Even last night I cannot really sleep. My mind keep thinking on some issues like whether I will be able to handle and how to handle myself meeting ne people. Egh...just go lah! :D

I arrived in Newcastle at about 4p.m on Saturday. After a long drive, 8 hours (drive-stop-coffee-drive-repeat the same for 5 times) haha... we arrived safely. Lucky me that Dr. Kit offered to drive me here. It really bring back my memory when doing my degree before. Even though this time it's not my family who drive me, but I consider Dr. Kit as a family too - My family in UK. Everyone I met in Cardiff told me that Newcastle will be colder than Cardiff. They started to gave some sweater, jumper, hat, gloves and more things to me.Thank you!

Yesterday, I managed to meet some new friends from Malaysia. After finished register and get my student ID, I followed them to go to the beach called Tynemouth! What a nice place....but it was very cold especially when the wind blows...but we have such a nice time there! Great introduction!

OK...time to go...let see what happen...

p/s: Go Maggi Go! :D

It has been three days now i'm in the UK. Obviously so many things are different, and luckily I have been here a few times before so some of it are not so new to me...hahah... However, I still struggling to suit myself with the weather and food! :D

I arrived in Schipol airport, Amsterdam early in the morning before I need to change to another flight to go to Heathrow Airport, London. With a blur mind in the morning, I'm quite happy that there were no problems for me to find the correct gate to the plane!

Right after I arrived in Heathrow, I'm so happy to know that my luggages were safe! And after finished the checking, I went out and there were Dr. Kit and Dr. Lynn waiting for me with smiles :D yeah! Now, I felt much safer! hahaha....familiar faces :D

Ihave spent a few days in Cardiff visiting some people that I met in my last visit to UK. Tomorrow I will be heading to Newcastle. Everybody that I met keep telling me that Newcastle gonna be much colder than Cardiff! Be ready! huhu...Let see what happen...I have a year to spent my life over there. Oh Newcastle, better be nice to me! :D

Let's do it! Carpe diem!

I am about to fly to UK in a few hours. At the moment I'm with my siblings: Sisters and brothers - spending time in KL while waiting for the flight. I felt a bit sad that my mom and dad cannot send me here... :( but never mind, their health are much more important and their prayers are much needed :)

Are you ready for another journey? Yeah, this time we are gonna experience another life in another kind of world. I'm back ad a student...and in oversea. I will try to update this blog to you and bring as much as good information that can help me and you in learning and discovering new things :)

Reflection! That is the main thing here....reflection of me as a postgraduate student, as a teacher! I am very nervous to start this journey actually but in the same time I am also excited to try and explore the new world. I believe there will be a lot of challenges and difficulties but there will be no drama without it.

Put the sadness behind... Dont worry guys (family, school, friends,pupils...and readers), you guys are always in my heart! :) Please wish me luck and keep praying for the best all the time. Thank you

Goodbye SK Kampung Kenang: Always in my heart!

It was my last day in school. So, I think before I start my car and drive back to Alor Setar, I better write something on my blog. Before that, let's listen to my pupils singing Bangun Berdiri! We recorded it this morning, as a pack for me to bring together to UK...Please pay attention listen carefully to them until finish... :)

I have a great experiences for almost 3 years teaching in SK Kampung Kenang. I learnt so much...the road was up and down, here and there but everything just make me grow mature and wise! I appreciate everything.

To all the teachers and staff in SK Kampung Kenang, thank you for everything. Thank you for accepting me there and support me through the years. We are like a family already, brother and sister, mom and dad in our own unique way.

To all my pupils, do not cry anymore after this... I hope they will make my leaving as a stepping stone to move forward and inspire them to dream big! You guys will always in my heart and mind all the time. It is so hard to let go, but we need to do what we need to do...

Remembering the first day I was in the school make me realized how much I have grow and learnt. If you follow my blof from the beginning, you will notice a lot of changes and maturity in everything I do. I learn so much from this experiences. I learnt a lot from my pupils...

Goodbye SK Kampung Kenang! Goodbye all my Temiar pupils! Take care and wish you guys all the best all the time!

So, before I end this entry, this is Bangun Berdiri my version...haha...thanks everyone :)

p/s: I will miss you all! Miss everything! Miss all of it!

I was touched!

Yesterday, while I was walking out from the preschool class, suddenly someone called my name. Oh, it was Kak Murni! I stopped and started to walk towards her and asked her if I can help anything. Actually, Kak Murni works as a cleaner in the school. She is a Temiar. Her 2 sons and daughter are my pupils. I taught Arman when he was year 6 last two yeras and Armin in year 3 now I taught him when he in year 1. This year, I teach Arvina in year 1.

Quite an introduction about her there...hehe...so, she said to me that she heard that I am leaving the school soon. I confirmed it to her. Yep, this is my last week in the school. She suddenly asked me about my book "life through my eyes". She said she wanted to buy a copy from me. even she cannot read english, but she wanted to keep it. She said that She want to keep it for her children, one day they will read the book to her. The book is about the life of them in the school and village. Even Armin picture was in the book!

Today, I brought the book to her. She was happy getting the book. I hope it will keep inspire her and bring a new light to her children. I believe that she is a very good and motivated mom and a great life awaiting for them in the future :)

p/s: still not packing! Wahaha!

A few days more

Today is the day for my year 6 to perform UPSR. I hope they will doing well. I hope everyone will do well. They already work hard enough, so they deserve to perform well. InsyaAllah...

I have a few days more in the school. It is my last week in SK Kampung Kenang. I am going to further my study in Newcastle University, UK in MEd. International Development and Education soon enough. It feels so weird to think that I am leaving the school :(

My year 6 kids did not really know about this yet. I know that they hear some rumours about it but I never confirm it with them yet. Let them just focus on the UPSR first... Wish you guys luck as always

Queuing Zone

When you are teaching year 1 class, you will probably get a bit of a problem to control the class. So do I. When I brought my year 1 to the mathematics lab, the problem became bigger. As we sit down on the floor, everytime I gave them exercises, the class become a bit wild especially when they finished their work and wanted me to check their work. They just come running and handing the exercises to me.

I came out with one idea. Another classroom rule for them that we decided together. A place for them to queue and wait for their turn to see me...haha...so everytime they enter that queue zone or we called it as 'tempat temujanji', they will need to follow some rules:

1. If you in the queue zone, you cannot talk!
2. If you in the queue zone, you cannot run!
3. If you in the queue zone, you need to wait until teacher call you to meet him
4. If you enter the queue zone, no going out until you meet the teacher.

So, right after that at least I can handle the kids better thab before :D wahahaha!

p/s: A nice experience in IPG Kampus Pendidikan Islam last Saturday! Thank you for inviting me there :)
