About Me

Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone!!!

I am committed to the principles and practice of ARM in teaching and learning. ARM stands for Active learningReflection and Modelling. I initially trained as a Primary School Teacher on the  BEd (Hons) Primary Mathematics, University of Hertfordshire, UK for four years at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

I have a masters degree, MEd International Development and Education from Newcastle University, UK. My research investigated teachers as reflective practitioners in a developing country focusing on Ghanaian private school teachers (Omega School).

Now, I am an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) working with the Malaysian Government. My journey now is getting bigger and broader especially in the area of leadership and management. Reflecting and learning from my experience is always my love and obsession!

Blog History

I started blogging in 2009 when I was just a student or, as we were called, a trainee teacher. In 2010, I was posted to a rural school in Perak: SK Kampung Kenang, Sungai Siput (U) Perak where I taught Temiar pupils for 3 years. There were lots of challenges that I needed to face teaching in a rural school: the location, language for communication, internet and phone connection and many more. Equipped by ARM (Active learning, Reflection and Modelling) I faced the challenges and met the demands. I created active creative teaching and learning, modelled good teaching and learning and reflected regularly in my blog.

The blog started to gain lots of attention nationally and internationally. I have been invited to seminars and courses to present the activities and the reflection process. The blog has been turned in to books and the biggest surprise was that the blog won the PRIME MINISTER's APICTA Best of the Best Award, 2011!

Now this blog will continue to document my career and life journey to inspire more people to do their best in whatever they do. In education, as teachers, leaders, let's all make the best efforts that we can for the sake of future generations. I hope that the message in this blog will always inspire you too!
